Monday (Somvar) is widely kept as Shiva's day. Many devotees fast on Mondays, offer water, milk and bilva leaves to the Shiva linga, and recite his mantras and stotras; the Mondays of Shravan are especially observed. Associations between weekdays and deities vary by region and family tradition.
