Privacy

Sanatanshala does not require an account and does not sell or share personal information. This page lists everything the site stores.

In your browser

• Reading preferences (script, meaning language, text size, night mode) and your chosen city are saved in your browser's local storage so they are remembered next time. They are not sent to us.
• If you install the site or read offline, your browser keeps copies of pages you have opened. You can clear them in your browser settings.
• We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

"Calculate for my location"

If you press "Calculate for my location" on the panchang page, your browser asks your permission. The panchang is then calculated inside your browser; your location is not sent to our server or stored. We only record that the button was used and whether permission was given, with no location attached.

Error reports and messages

When you use "Report an error", we store the page address, your message and, only if you give them, your contact details. We use these only to look into the report and to reply. Reports and any contact details are deleted within 12 months, or sooner once the matter is closed. Messages sent by email are handled the same way.

Visit statistics

We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-focused service that does not use cookies or build personal profiles, in order to learn which pages are useful. The site is hosted by Vercel and its database by Neon, both in the United States. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security, for a limited period.
