About this text
Yugal Kishore, "the young pair", is Radha and Krishna worshipped together, as in the temples of Vrindavan. This aarti asks the devotee to offer body, mind and wealth and to drink in the sight of the fair and dark faces, brighter than millions of suns and moons. It pictures them in blue and yellow garments on a jewelled throne with a bed and garlands of flowers, the golden plate with its camphor lamp, and all men and women performing the aarti. The last line names the poet Paramanand Swami and calls Nanda's son and Vrishabhanu's daughter an eternal pair. Only one independent edition of this aarti was found online, so its lines could not be compared; the text is taken from that edition, as the source box says.
How it is recited
It is sung in the worship of Radha and Krishna, on Janmashtami and Radhashtami and at evening aarti. Customs vary.
