How the puja is done

When

In North India Hanuman Jayanti (also called Hanuman Janmotsav) falls on Chaitra Purnima, the full moon of Chaitra. Other regions keep Hanuman's birthday on other dates, and some keep it on Kartik Krishna Chaturdashi. See the Hanuman Jayanti page for the date.

Preparing

  • Rise early, bathe and wear clean clothes, red or saffron if you can.
  • Spread a red or orange cloth at the place of worship and set up an image of Hanuman, with a picture of Ram and Sita.

The puja
