Sunday (Ravivar) is the day of Surya, the Sun. Many offer water (arghya) to the rising sun on Sundays and recite the Aditya Hridayam or other prayers to Surya; some also keep a Sunday fast. Associations between weekdays and deities vary by region and family tradition.
