श्रीगुरु चरन सरोज रज निज मनु मुकुरु सुधारि । बरनउँ रघुबर बिमल जसु जो दायकु फल चारि ॥

श्री गुरु के चरण-कमलों की धूल से अपने मन रूपी दर्पण को स्वच्छ करके, मैं श्री रघुवीर (राम) के निर्मल यश का वर्णन करता हूँ, जो चारों फल (धर्म, अर्थ, काम, मोक्ष) देने वाला है।

Cleansing the mirror of my mind with the dust of my guru's lotus feet, I describe the pure glory of Shri Raghubar (Ram), which grants the four fruits of life.

बुद्धिहीन तनु जानिके सुमिरौं पवन-कुमार । बल बुधि बिद्या देहु मोहिं हरहु कलेस बिकार ॥

buddhihin tanu janike sumiraun pavana-kumar | bal budhi bidya dehu mohin harahu kales bikar ||

स्वयं को बुद्धिहीन जानकर मैं पवनपुत्र हनुमान का स्मरण करता हूँ। मुझे बल, बुद्धि और विद्या दीजिए और मेरे कष्ट तथा विकार दूर कीजिए।

Knowing myself to be lacking in understanding, I remember you, son of the Wind. Grant me strength, wisdom and knowledge, and take away my troubles and faults.

जय हनुमान ज्ञान गुन सागर । जय कपीस तिहुं लोक उजागर ॥

jay hanuman gyan gun sagar | jay kapis tihun lok ujagar ||

ज्ञान और गुणों के सागर हनुमान जी की जय हो। तीनों लोकों में प्रसिद्ध कपीश्वर की जय हो।

Victory to Hanuman, ocean of knowledge and virtue. Victory to the lord of the monkeys, renowned in all three worlds.

रामदूत अतुलित बल धामा । अंजनि-पुत्र पवनसुत नामा ॥

ramadut atulit bal dhama | anjani-putr pavanasut nama ||

आप श्रीराम के दूत और अतुलनीय बल के धाम हैं; आपका नाम अंजनी-पुत्र और पवनसुत है।

You are Ram's messenger, the abode of matchless strength, known as Anjani's son and the son of the Wind.

महाबीर बिक्रम बजरंगी । कुमति निवार सुमति के संगी ॥

mahabir bikram bajarangi | kumati nivar sumati ke sangi ||

हे महावीर, पराक्रमी बजरंगी! आप कुबुद्धि को दूर करते हैं और सुबुद्धि वालों के साथी हैं।

Great hero, mighty and valiant, with a body strong as a thunderbolt, you remove bad thinking and are the companion of good sense.

कंचन बरन बिराज सुबेसा । कानन कुंडल कुंचित केसा ॥

kanchan baran biraj subesa | kanan kundal kunchit kesa ||

आपका सुनहरा वर्ण सुंदर वेश में शोभित है; कानों में कुंडल और घुंघराले केश हैं।

Your golden complexion shines in fine attire, with earrings in your ears and curly hair.

हाथ बज्र औ ध्वजा बिराजै । कांधे मूंज जनेऊ साजै ॥

hath bajr au dhvaja birajai | kandhe munj janeu sajai ||

आपके हाथों में वज्र और ध्वजा शोभित हैं, और कंधे पर मूंज का जनेऊ सजा है।

A thunderbolt and a banner shine in your hands, and a sacred thread of munja grass adorns your shoulder.

शंकर सुवन केसरीनंदन । तेज प्रताप महा जगवंदन ॥

shankar suvan kesarinandan | tej pratap maha jagavandan ||

आप शंकर के अंश और केसरी के नंदन हैं; आपका तेज और प्रताप महान है, सारा जगत आपकी वंदना करता है।

Born of Shankar's grace, son of Kesari, your radiance and glory are great and honoured by the whole world.

विद्यावान गुनी अति चातुर । राम काज करिबे को आतुर ॥

vidyavan guni ati chatur | ram kaj karibe ko atur ||

आप विद्वान, गुणवान और अत्यंत चतुर हैं, और श्रीराम का कार्य करने को सदा आतुर रहते हैं।

Learned, virtuous and very wise, you are always eager to do Ram's work.

प्रभु चरित्र सुनिबे को रसिया । राम लखन सीता मन बसिया ॥

prabhu charitr sunibe ko rasiya | ram lakhan sita man basiya ||

आप प्रभु का चरित्र सुनने के रसिक हैं; राम, लक्ष्मण और सीता आपके मन में बसते हैं।

You delight in hearing the Lord's story; Ram, Lakshman and Sita dwell in your heart.

सूक्ष्म रूप धरि सियहिं दिखावा । बिकट रूप धरि लंक जरावा ॥

sukshm rup dhari siyahin dikhava | bikat rup dhari lank jarava ||

आपने सूक्ष्म रूप धरकर सीता जी को दर्शन दिए और विकट रूप धरकर लंका जलाई।

Taking a tiny form you appeared before Sita; taking a fearsome form you set Lanka ablaze.

भीम रूप धरि असुर संहारे । रामचंद्र के काज संवारे ॥

bhim rup dhari asur sanhare | ramachandr ke kaj sanvare ||

आपने भीम रूप धरकर असुरों का संहार किया और श्री रामचंद्र जी के काज संवारे।

Taking a mighty form you destroyed the demons and accomplished Ramchandra's tasks.

लाय सजीवन लखन जियाये । श्रीरघुबीर हरषि उर लाये ॥

lay sajivan lakhan jiyaye | shriraghubir harashi ur laye ||

आपने संजीवनी बूटी लाकर लक्ष्मण जी को जीवित किया, जिससे श्री रघुवीर ने हर्षित होकर आपको हृदय से लगा लिया।

You brought the sanjivani herb and revived Lakshman; Shri Raghuvir joyfully embraced you.

रघुपति कीन्ही बहुत बड़ाई । तुम मम प्रिय भरतहि सम भाई ॥

raghupati kinhi bahut barai | tum mam priy bharatahi sam bhai ||

श्री रघुपति ने आपकी बहुत प्रशंसा की और कहा, "तुम मुझे भरत के समान प्रिय भाई हो।"

Raghupati praised you greatly: "You are as dear to me as my brother Bharat."

सहस बदन तुम्हरो जस गावैं । अस कहि श्रीपति कंठ लगावैं ॥

sahas badan tumharo jas gavain | as kahi shripati kanth lagavain ||

"हज़ार मुखों वाले (शेषनाग) तुम्हारा यश गाएँ," ऐसा कहकर श्रीपति ने आपको गले लगा लिया।

"May the thousand-mouthed serpent sing your glory," said the Lord of Shri, and embraced you.

सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीसा । नारद सारद सहित अहीसा ॥

sanakadik brahmadi munisa | narad sarad sahit ahisa ||

सनक आदि ऋषि, ब्रह्मा आदि देवता, मुनिश्रेष्ठ, नारद, सरस्वती और शेषनाग,

Sanaka and the sages, Brahma and the gods, the great munis, Narada, Sharada and the king of serpents,

जम कुबेर दिगपाल जहां ते । कबि कोबिद कहि सके कहां ते ॥

jam kuber digapal jahan te | kabi kobid kahi sake kahan te ||

यम, कुबेर और दिक्पाल भी जब आपका यश पूरा नहीं कह सकते, तो कवि और विद्वान कहाँ तक कह सकेंगे?

Yama, Kubera and the guardians of the directions: if even they cannot fully tell your glory, how could poets and scholars?

तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं कीन्हा । राम मिलाय राज पद दीन्हा ॥

tum upakar sugrivahin kinha | ram milay raj pad dinha ||

आपने सुग्रीव पर उपकार किया; उन्हें श्रीराम से मिलाकर राजपद दिलाया।

You did Sugriva a great kindness: you brought him to Ram and restored his kingdom.

तुम्हरो मंत्र बिभीषन माना । लंकेस्वर भए सब जग जाना ॥

tumharo mantr bibhishan mana | lankesvar bhae sab jag jana ||

विभीषण ने आपका परामर्श माना और वे लंका के राजा बने, यह सारा संसार जानता है।

Vibhishana followed your counsel and became the king of Lanka, as the whole world knows.

जुग सहस्र जोजन पर भानू । लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू ॥

jug sahasr jojan par bhanu | lilyo tahi madhur phal janu ||

हज़ारों योजन दूर स्थित सूर्य को आपने मीठा फल समझकर निगल लिया।

The sun, thousands of yojanas away, you swallowed, thinking it a sweet fruit.

प्रभु मुद्रिका मेलि मुख माहीं । जलधि लांघि गये अचरज नाहीं ॥

prabhu mudrika meli mukh mahin | jaladhi langhi gaye acharaj nahin ||

प्रभु की अंगूठी मुख में रखकर आप समुद्र लांघ गए, इसमें कोई आश्चर्य नहीं।

Holding the Lord's ring in your mouth you leapt across the ocean; no wonder in that.

दुर्गम काज जगत के जेते । सुगम अनुग्रह तुम्हरे तेते ॥

durgam kaj jagat ke jete | sugam anugrah tumhare tete ||

संसार के जितने भी कठिन काम हैं, वे आपकी कृपा से सरल हो जाते हैं।

Whatever tasks in the world are hard become easy by your grace.

राम दुआरे तुम रखवारे । होत न आज्ञा बिनु पैसारे ॥

ram duare tum rakhavare | hot n agya binu paisare ||

आप श्रीराम के द्वार के रखवाले हैं; आपकी आज्ञा के बिना वहाँ कोई प्रवेश नहीं कर सकता।

You are the guardian at Ram's door; no one enters without your permission.

सब सुख लहै तुम्हारी सरना । तुम रक्षक काहू को डर ना ॥

sab sukh lahai tumhari sarana | tum rakshak kahu ko dar na ||

आपकी शरण में आने वाले को सब सुख मिलते हैं; जब आप रक्षक हों तो किसी का डर नहीं।

Those who take refuge in you gain every happiness; with you as protector, there is nothing to fear.

आपन तेज सम्हारो आपै । तीनों लोक हांक तें कांपै ॥

apan tej samharo apai | tinon lok hank ten kanpai ||

अपने तेज को आप ही संभाल सकते हैं; आपकी हुंकार से तीनों लोक कांप उठते हैं।

Only you can contain your own might; the three worlds tremble at your roar.

भूत पिसाच निकट नहिं आवै । महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै ॥

bhut pisach nikat nahin avai | mahabir jab nam sunavai ||

जब कोई महावीर का नाम सुनाता है, तो भूत-पिशाच निकट नहीं आते।

Ghosts and evil spirits do not come near when one recites the name of the Great Hero.

नासै रोग हरै सब पीरा । जपत निरंतर हनुमत बीरा ॥

nasai rog harai sab pira | japat nirantar hanumat bira ||

वीर हनुमान का निरंतर जप करने से रोग नष्ट होते हैं और सारी पीड़ा दूर होती है।

Disease is destroyed and all pain removed by constantly repeating the name of the brave Hanuman.

संकट तें हनुमान छुड़ावै । मन क्रम बचन ध्यान जो लावै ॥

sankat ten hanuman chhhuravai | man kram bachan dhyan jo lavai ||

जो मन, कर्म और वचन से हनुमान जी का ध्यान करता है, उसे वे संकटों से छुड़ाते हैं।

Hanuman frees from trouble whoever fixes on him in thought, deed and word.

सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा । तिन के काज सकल तुम साजा ॥

sab par ram tapasvi raja | tin ke kaj sakal tum saja ||

तपस्वी राजा श्रीराम सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं, और उनके सब काज आपने ही संवारे।

Ram the ascetic king is above all, and you carried out all his tasks.

और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै । सोइ अमित जीवन फल पावै ॥

aur manorath jo koi lavai | soi amit jivan phal pavai ||

जो कोई और भी मनोरथ लेकर आता है, वह जीवन में उसका असीम फल पाता है।

Whoever brings any other wish to you receives its boundless fruit in life.

चारों जुग परताप तुम्हारा । है परसिद्ध जगत उजियारा ॥

charon jug paratap tumhara | hai parasiddh jagat ujiyara ||

चारों युगों में आपका प्रताप है, जो जगत में प्रसिद्ध और उजियारा है।

Your glory spans all four ages and is famed throughout the world.

साधु-संत के तुम रखवारे । असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे ॥

sadhu-sant ke tum rakhavare | asur nikandan ram dulare ||

आप साधु-संतों के रक्षक, असुरों का नाश करने वाले और श्रीराम के दुलारे हैं।

You are the protector of saints and sages, destroyer of demons and darling of Ram.

अष्ट सिद्धि नौ निधि के दाता । अस बर दीन जानकी माता ॥

asht siddhi nau nidhi ke data | as bar din janaki mata ||

आप आठों सिद्धियों और नौ निधियों के दाता हैं; यह वर आपको माता जानकी ने दिया।

You can bestow the eight siddhis and nine treasures; Mother Janaki granted you this boon.

राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा । सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा ॥

ram rasayan tumhare pasa | sada raho raghupati ke dasa ||

राम-भक्ति रूपी रसायन आपके पास है; आप सदा श्री रघुपति के दास बने रहें।

You hold the elixir of devotion to Ram; may you always remain Raghupati's servant.

तुम्हरे भजन राम को पावै । जनम-जनम के दुख बिसरावै ॥

tumhare bhajan ram ko pavai | janama-janam ke dukh bisaravai ||

आपके भजन से श्रीराम की प्राप्ति होती है और जन्म-जन्मांतर के दुख भूल जाते हैं।

Through devotion to you one reaches Ram and forgets the sorrows of many lifetimes.

अन्त काल रघुबर पुर जाई । जहाँ जन्म हरि-भक्त कहाई ॥

ant kal raghubar pur jai | jahan janm hari-bhakt kahai ||

अंत समय में भक्त श्री रघुवीर के धाम जाता है, और जहाँ भी जन्म ले, हरि-भक्त कहलाता है।

At the end of life one goes to Raghubar's abode, and wherever born again is called a devotee of Hari.

और देवता चित्त न धरई । हनुमत सेइ सर्ब सुख करई ॥

aur devata chitt n dhari | hanumat sei sarb sukh kari ||

अन्य किसी देवता को मन में न धरते हुए भी, हनुमान जी की सेवा से सब सुख मिलते हैं।

Even without holding any other deity in mind, serving Hanuman brings every happiness.

संकट कटै मिटै सब पीरा । जो सुमिरै हनुमत बलबीरा ॥

sankat katai mitai sab pira | jo sumirai hanumat balabira ||

जो बलवीर हनुमान जी का स्मरण करता है, उसके संकट कट जाते हैं और सारी पीड़ा मिट जाती है।

Troubles are cut away and all pain ends for whoever remembers the mighty hero Hanuman.

जै जै जै हनुमान गोसाईं । कृपा करहु गुरुदेव की नाईं ॥

jai jai jai hanuman gosain | kripa karahu gurudev ki nain ||

हे स्वामी हनुमान जी, आपकी जय हो, जय हो, जय हो! गुरुदेव की भाँति मुझ पर कृपा कीजिए।

Victory, victory, victory to Lord Hanuman! Be gracious to me as a guru is.

तुलसीदास सदा हरि चेरा । कीजै नाथ हृदय महँ डेरा ॥

tulasidas sada hari chera | kijai nath hriday mahan dera ||

तुलसीदास सदा हरि के सेवक हैं; हे नाथ, मेरे हृदय में निवास कीजिए।

Tulsidas is ever the servant of Hari; Lord, make your dwelling in my heart.

पवन तनय संकट हरन मंगल मूरति रूप । राम लखन सीता सहित हृदय बसहु सुर भूप ॥

pavan tanay sankat haran mangal murati rup | ram lakhan sita sahit hriday basahu sur bhup ||

हे पवनपुत्र, संकट हरने वाले, मंगल की मूर्ति! हे देवराज, राम, लक्ष्मण और सीता सहित मेरे हृदय में निवास कीजिए।

Son of the Wind, remover of troubles, embodiment of auspiciousness: king of the gods, dwell in my heart together with Ram, Lakshman and Sita.
