About this text

Om Sahana Vavatu is a shanti (peace) mantra from the Krishna Yajurveda tradition, recited at the opening of the Taittiriya and Katha Upanishads. It ends with "Om shanti" three times. It is addressed to no particular deity. In Vedic recitation it carries accent marks, which are not shown on this page.
