Karpur Gauram ·

The Sanskrit verse to Shiva, fair as camphor, sung at the end of every aarti.

karpuragauram karunavataram sansarasaram bhujagendraharam | sadavasantam hridayaravinde bhavam bhavanisahitam namami ||

    karpūragauraṃ karuṇāvatāraṃ saṃsārasāraṃ bhujagendrahāram । sadāvasantaṃ hṛdayāravinde bhavaṃ bhavānīsahitaṃ namāmi ॥

    Fair as camphor, the incarnation of compassion, the essence of worldly existence, wearing the king of serpents as a garland, ever dwelling in the lotus of the heart: I bow to Bhava (Shiva) together with Bhavani.
