Shiva Panchakshara Stotram: Meaning
The Shiva Panchakshara Stotram, attributed to Adi Shankaracharya, is built on the five-syllable mantra "Namah Shivaya": na, mah, shi, va, ya. Each verse is dedicated to one syllable, and ends by saluting Shiva "in the form of" that syllable, so that reciting the hymn spells out the mantra. The notes explain the images in each verse.
