Ram Raksha Stotra: Meaning

The Ram Raksha Stotra is a Sanskrit protective hymn whose fifteenth verse names its seer as Budha Kaushika, who wrote it down after Shiva taught it to him in a dream. After a meditation on Ram, it becomes a kavacha (armour), placing a name of Ram, each recalling an episode of the Ramayana, on every part of the body. It then describes the benefits, meditates on Ram and Lakshman as forest ascetics, and closes with well-known verses of surrender (including Rama rameti). The notes give the plain sense of each verse.
