Bajrang Baan: Meaning

Bajrang Baan ("the arrow of Bajrang") is a Hindi-Awadhi hymn to Hanuman, traditionally linked with Tulsidas though its authorship is uncertain. It recalls Hanuman's deeds in Lanka and then becomes an urgent appeal, using oaths in Ram's name and mantra seed-syllables, for protection against enemies and spirits. The notes below explain each verse simply; the seed syllables (such as hrim and hum) are sounds without a word meaning.
